Merens

Just back from a lovely night in the Pyrenees and it was thrilling to encounter a few herds of Merens. They were at liberty, some of them wearing cowbells. They were used to humans though and the foals were really friendly. They looked in amazing condition but there were swarms of flies bothering them.

I was thinking about Tess and wondering if any of them were related to Ganz.

Im going to ask Fanny via fb if the ones that Sarah has pictured are hers, would be nice to put names to them :-D Theres a link for the transhumance this autumn to bring them down for the winter, the pregnant mares will foal in the valley, and usually early as April and May, often snowey still for foaling, then they all go back up in June to get Merensy  Im sure thats why they are so surefooted, wouldnt it be lovely if we could all go? they have a few places to do the journey with them, check out the link, would be amazing, by all accounts they piss it up in the evenings, so thats a familiar any horse event in France sort of thing  would suit us lot just fine :-D

Just looked at the cost  will save for next Spring then

Every time my trimmer comes she says she can't believe how good Tari's feet are for a youngster, she was born up in those mountains too.....
